The pork meat from which it is made is selected from farms located in Emilia Romagna and Lombardy. After being carefully ground, it must be flavored with a specific aromatic mix.
The final mixture, before being packaged, is steamed in the oven in order to preserve all the taste it will offer to the palate once brought to the table and after being cut into slices.
The zampone (stuffed pig’s trotter) is baked in the oven or cooked by immersing the aluminum bag in boiling water. It is typically complemented by a side dish of quality lentils, constituting a blend if very harmonious and delicious flavors.
